Let's debunk a common myth about hypnotherapy: the idea that you can be made to cluck like a chicken or do anything against your will - that's simply not true! During hypnosis, your subconscious mind only accepts changes that it sees as beneficial, and you're always in full control.

If you've ever experienced hypnotherapy before, you'll know that trance is a completely natural, voluntary state of focused attention. We slip in and out of this state all the time, whether we're lost in a good book, driving our regular route, or even during exercise. Trance is a positive, shared, relaxing, and uplifting experience that helps you achieve positive outcomes. In this relaxed and focused state, you become more receptive to positive suggestions that empower you and promote positive change.

The British Medical Journal recognises hypnosis for its effectiveness in reducing anxiety, pain, and tackling unhelpful habits like smoking. Plus, neuroscience has given us a fascinating insight into brain activity during trance, providing solid evidence of its effectiveness as a therapeutic tool.
What is hypnotherapy?
The success of solution focused hypnotherapy depends on your commitment and engagement with the process and your implementation of the strategies discussed together, between sessions.
What is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy?
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a modern, effective approach that combines psychotherapy with hypnosis to help you achieve positive, long-lasting change. We use well-researched, and clinically proven strategies to address a variety of issues such as anxiety, low mood, phobias, smoking cessation, and more.
It is a collaborative process where together we focus on the positives in life and visualise your preferred future, rather than dwelling on past problems. We’ll work collaboratively to help you find your own solutions and empower you to take steps towards your goals.

What sets Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy apart from other talking therapies is its forward-thinking approach. Instead of focusing on what’s wrong (what you are seeking help for), we look at what you want to achieve (solutions) and how to get there.
During our sessions, we'll explore how your brain works and why you might feel anxious, low or angry at times. With techniques such as Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), we'll help you develop a more positive mindset and boost your confidence and motivation.
My goal is to provide a friendly, supportive environment where you can make meaningful and long-lasting changes to help you achieve your full potential and create the future you deserve.
How does it work?
I offer one-to-one sessions in my therapy room in Weybridge, Surrey or online on Zoom.
The Initial Consultation takes up to 60 minutes where I gather information about you and what you are seeking help for. This session enables me to establish a clear picture for planning future sessions so that I can tailor the therapy to suit your individual needs. We'll explore why you're feeling the way you do, how the brain works, and how it can contribute to feelings of anxiety, depression, or anger. After the session, you'll receive a free MP3 recording to help you relax, sleep better, and support our work together. It's important that you feel comfortable with your therapist, so this first meeting gives you the opportunity to decide if I'm the right fit for you. There's no obligation to book sessions after this.
Subsequent sessions are up to 55 minutes long and are best conducted on a weekly basis to maintain momentum in your treatment, although there's no pressure to do this. Each session starts with a positive discussion about your progress, followed by hypnosis, a relaxing and pleasant experience that reinforces our work together. During trance, I use positive visualisations and metaphors to reinforce your goals and empower you to achieve them.
Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy is designed to be a relatively quick process (typically 6 – 12 sessions) with long-lasting results. However, there's no pressure, and you can have as many sessions as you feel necessary. Smoking cessation is usually a one-off session lasting between 90 to 120 minutes, while specific phobias typically take around four sessions (this can vary and will be discussed during the initial consultation).
